If you are considering getting a pet, please considering visiting a rescue society before a pet store. There are thousands of homeless animals in Cairo and any one of them that you adopt will be a loyal forever friend.
Often times people have concerns about adopting a mixed breed or a homeless animal because they “won’t know what they are getting”. In reality, any pet in a shelter has been thoroughly screened by a vet and by many people trained in handling animals. These people will be able to give you a full assessment of the animal’s personality. A puppy or kitten purchased from a pet store could have numerous behavioral problems stemming from improper breeding practices or insufficient socialization and care; a pet store owner or breeder who have a financial interest in selling an animal will not be able to make this information available to you.
