Midge the 5th, a regal hamster in a long line of distinguished rodents.
Meet Midge V, Contributing Editor from Surrey, UK.
Midge is excited to join the Cairo Pets team. This is her first editorial position and Midge looks forward to the unique challenges of portraying animals that would otherwise annoy her – cats in particular – in a positive, professional manner. In her spare time Midge enjoys eating, sleeping, pooping and rolling around in her hamster wheel. She would like it noted that she is, in fact, rabies free. Midge would like to thank Lizzie for all of her love and support and remember all of the noble hamsters whose work paved the way for her current success; Maisy, Mini Me & Mad Max, Millie.

Midge escaped!!!!!! i left her cage open……oops….
We spent ALL evening looking for her and we were worried she got outside because the kitchen door was open!!!
Eventually we went to bed after putting some food out in the living room. we had a sleepless night and kept getting up to check she had eaten the food. she did in the end so she was inside!
Me and James(bro) heard knawing in the bathroom but we couldn’t see anything in there. we soon found out that she had gotten behind the wall.. somehow…
we closed the door but left more food out in the bathroom. she didn’t take it and we were worried she had travelled somewhere else. in the morning we found a small poop behind the toilet and we knew she was near.
We had a feeling she was under the bath as it has a gap behind it and the bottom part is wood. My mum got a drill and undid the panelings. She was under there!
we lured her out with food and put her safely in her cage!
I WILL be more CAREFUL from now on!
Oh no! It sounds like it was rather tragic, but it’s great to hear all is well in the world of Midge. Sounds like she had quite an adventure, but back safely in her home, which is good.
